In the heart of the Székely Land, on the western foothills of the Görgény
Alps, Sovata stands at a height of 500 m, where 2003 Danubius Hotels Group -
after a complete reconstruction - reopened the 3-star Hotel Sovata.
The spa's pride and joy is Lake Bear, created by an unusual act of nature on May
27 in 1875; the lake is heliothermal (heated by sunlight) and its mud and
exceptionally high salt content (250 gm per litre) are the basis for the
treatments offered (locomotive, dermatological, gynaecological). The lake can be
used for bathing from mid-June to early September; because of its exceptional
properties it is closed for the rest of the year to allow the waters to
"recuperate" and restore themselves.
The 6-storied Hotel Sovata - only 150 meters from the lake Bear -
offers 168 double rooms, all equipped with balcony, bath or shower, colour TV
with satellite programmes, minibar and phone. Non-smoking, anti-allergic rooms
and rooms for disabled are provided as well.
The newly established health spa department of the hotel awaits clients, who are looking for healing and relaxation. Treatments are indicated in case of rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders, rehabilitation after accident, chronic inflammatory gynecological diseases, hormonal disorders, allergic problems of the respiratory system. All these treatments are available at highest level together with accompanying services of experts with most modern technical equipment for balneo- and hydrotherapy, gynecology, mechanotherapy, electrotherapy, phototherapy, pneumology and dermatology.
